This soil will break down faster than the hard-fired Akadama soil. The particles are a warmer brownish gold color. One particle size.

This and other Japanese soils are best in Japan's comparatively warmer, wetter climate. However, many American bonsai practitioners who do not live in a climate similar to Japan's like to add the Japanese soil to their mix (as we do).
