One-Of-A-Kind Japanese Hornbeam

The Tree you see is the tree we'll ship.

The Japanese Hornbeam, also known as Carpinus japonica, is a small tree commonly used for bonsai cultivation. It is native to Japan, Korea, and China and is a member of the Betulaceae family. The Japanese Hornbeam has attractive, small, serrated leaves that turn from bright green to orange in the fall. Its bark is also notable, as it has a unique texture and color that can add interest to the tree's overall appearance.

The Japanese Hornbeam Bonsai is a slow-growing tree that typically reaches a height of 10 to 20 feet in its natural environment. However, when grown as a bonsai, it is kept much smaller. It prefers partial shade and well-draining soil, and it should be watered regularly to maintain healthy growth.

Pruning and wiring are essential for shaping the Japanese Hornbeam Bonsai, and care should be taken to maintain its natural appearance. It can be styled in many different ways, including the traditional "informal upright" or "slanting" styles, and it is often used for forest plantings or groupings of several trees. With proper care and maintenance, the Japanese Hornbeam Bonsai can live for many years, making it a valuable addition to any bonsai collection.
