This is a One Of A Kind Japanese Beautyberry

The Japanese Beautyberry, also known as Callicarpa japonica, is a deciduous shrub that is native to Japan and Korea. When grown as a bonsai, the Japanese Beautyberry can make a beautiful and unique addition to any collection due to its striking purple berries.

The leaves of the Japanese Beautyberry bonsai are oval-shaped and have a dark green color. During the fall, the leaves can turn a beautiful yellow color before dropping off for the winter. The real showstopper of this bonsai is its clusters of small, purple berries that form in the fall and persist into winter.

The trunk of the Japanese Beautyberry bonsai is typically thin and wiry, with a bark that is grayish-brown in color.

To care for a Japanese Beautyberry bonsai, it is important to provide it with well-draining soil and plenty of sunlight. The tree should be watered regularly, but not excessively, and fertilized during the growing season. Pruning and wiring can be used to shape the tree and encourage growth in certain areas.

Overall, the Japanese Beautyberry bonsai is a unique and beautiful addition to any bonsai collection, with its striking purple berries adding a pop of color to any display.

Note: I was told this tree was imported, but I don't know who imported the tree and/or when. This is a specie that would need to be imported under a two-year quarantine, and I do not believe the previous owners of NEBG imported this tree.
